A project without a construction baseline programme is as good as driving blind. Currently, even in 2023, the construction industry in New Zealand has a long way to go when it comes to understanding the importance of planning and scheduling. Let’s face it, most Project Manager’s, and decision makers of multi-million-dollar projects in New Zealand have no clue as to how a programme is developed! That is a sad reality that needs to be addressed. The investors and stakeholders need to be educated about the inefficiencies and wastages the industry is facing due to lack of understanding of planning.
We would like SMED to be one of the leading entities in New Zealand to educate the construction industry about the importance of planning and scheduling projects. With a lot of passion and drive, SMED would like to take the industry, projects, and construction professionals through this journey of education and revival.
